Solutions for managing research information
AVEDAS is an IT company completely specialising in the management of research information. AVEDAS main office is located in Karlsruhe, Germany, where currently the complete development team is working. A smaller branch office is located in Stockholm, Sweden, where project management and support staff are responsible for implementation and operation of CONVERIS in the Nordic countries.
In close collaboration with its clients and partners, AVEDAS has developed CONVERIS, which is a comprehensive end-to-end research information system enabling universities and research organisations to benefit from the latest technology for easily managing the complete process of collecting, validating and utilising research information.
For certain R&D work, AVEDAS collaborates with research institutes and companies that are leading in their domains. Currently, this includes amongst others Thomson Reuters for publication handling and the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University for the joint development and operation of a bibliometrics module to CONVERIS.
Additionally, AVEDAS collects and quality assures data from a multitude of existing information sources all over the world on research projects, publications and patents. Hereby, CONVERIS can offer its users a continuous and largely automated reuse of data. This serves to benefit both researchers and administrators as less work needs to be spent on manually entering data in the system, and more time can be spent on quality assurance, analysis and the actual research.
