AVEDAS conducts project analysis for Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
In the context of the ongoing merging processes, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technolgy (KIT) wants to gain a better overview of the EU funded projects carried out at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe and University of Karlsruhe. Therefore, AVEDAS has been commissioned to analyse the EU funded projects within the 6th framework program in which the university and / or Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe have participated. The analysis includes even projects of selected thematic areas within the 5th framework program.
The analysis conducted by AVEDAS takes project type, partners, funding amount and thematic categorisation into consideration. Another important part is to investigate the two organisation’s position in a European context and in relation to other leading research organisations. Based on the project collaborations with other research organisations, AVEDAS will furthermore illustrate the networks to which Forschungszentrum and / or University of Karlsruhe belong.
The data the study is based on is the AVEDAS EU project database. As a result of several EU funded projects, AVEDAS has built a comprehensive data set of all EU projects within the 5th and 6th framework program. This set is based on the data warehouse provided by the EU but has been quality improved by AVEDAS, e.g. by adjusting different spellings of organisations, duplications or organisation types. Currently, AVEDAS has been commissioned by the EU to analyse the 6th framework program based on the AVEDAS EU project database.
