Bridge
BRIDGE – Bridging Biomaterial Research Excellence between Industry and Academia across Europe - aims to lay the foundation for a next generation European hub that fosters innovation and commercialization of research results in nanomedicine with a focus on biomaterial research for regenerative medicine.
AVEDAS provides its expertise to set up a soft infrastructure for the network and is together with Uppsala University in Sweden coordinating the network.
The BRIDGE network has nine partners from all parts of the knowledge triangle (research, education, clinical and commercial innovation), including public and private organisations across Europe. The aim is to lay the foundation for a European Powerhouse in Nanomedicine that brings research excellence from both academia and industry together into joint activities focused on achieving discoveries of real practical impact with strong commercial value.
BRIDGE will therefore elaborate and test new ways for pan-European collaboration. A collaboration model will be developed and components thereof tested. Key components include Knowledge Liaison Officers, joint research initiatives and new PhD courses bridging the gap between research and application.
